County funds

The county manages a number of funds for specific purposes. We encourage these funds to be used for their purposes.

Full details of each fund are included below. Please feel free to contact the County Commissioner or the County Administrator in the first instance to discuss an application. 

Activity Permit Fund
Its purpose is to assist in the cost of gaining permits in adventurous activities. For further information:

Friends of Berkshire Scouting Fund
Its purpose is to support the County’s Scouts and Scouting at the request of of County Commissioner and at the discretion of the Managers of the Fund. For further information:

Michael Nightingale Community Fund
The Michael Nightingale Community Fund provides support to Groups
and Units who wish to undertake activities which will make a positive
impact in the community that the Group or Unit is based. For further information:

New Section Fund
Its purpose is to support the growth of Scouting in Berkshire through opening new sections, whether as part of an existing Group or as part of a new Group. The Fund is to recognise that making a generous amount of funding available for new sections can be encouraging to local teams who will need to support a new section. For further information:

Roger King International Fund
The Roger King International Fund provides support for leaders and
organisers of Berkshire international events and activities. For further information:

Special Needs Fund
Its purpose is to support ‘special needs’ projects or initiatives in Berkshire. For further information:
